We bring you a rundown of Miami Dolphins news from the last 24 hours. We are just a couple of days away from seeing who the Miami Dolphins will select in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night. With the 21st pick, the Dolphins should get a valuable player who should contribute right away. Most mocks have the team addressing the defensive line or offensive line depending who is on the board. We also can’t rule out a trade down as the team doesn’t have a third or fourth round selection. If the Dolphins do choose to stay where they are at in the first and second, they better find two players who will be huge snap contributors this season. What players would you like to see the Dolphins select this weekend? You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day’s round-up below. The Phinsider: The SB Nation Miami Dolphins Blog has new update
1 day ago Report: Tyreek Hill reveals he was called out by Mike McDaniel following his performance against Chiefs
Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty Images “You’re supposed to be the best player in the league... we pay you all this money for what?’” The Miami Dolphins are four months removed from their playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs. But, that doesn’t mean the team has moved on. Star receiver Tyreek Hill hauled in Miami’s only touchdown that day, posting 5 catches for 62 yards. On paper, a decent performance. But the eyes tell a different story. Many fans lambasted Tyreek for his performances that day, and it looks like they weren’t alone. Tyreek Hill reveals he was called out by Mike McDaniel following his performance vs. Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs: "He called me out, he was like: 'You're supposed to be the best player in the league... we pay you all this money for what?'." (@mworthofgame) #FinsUp pic.twitter.com/Jt8QTwJOw8— FinsXtra (@FinsXtra) April 22, 2024 Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, normally the calmest guy in the room, reportedly told Hill after the game “Reek, you’re supposed to be the best player in the league, and you’ve got this guy putting hands all over you”. Ouch. McDaniel is not one to mince words, is he? Straight from the horse’s mouth, Tyreek’s performance simply wasn’t good enough that day. Hill is currently getting paid $30 million a year, and 5 catches off 8 targets in a playoff game simply isn’t good enough. In fact, none of Miami’s players were up for that game. Miami’s offense had a historically great regular season, and only managed 7 points in the biggest game of the season. It was cold, sure. But guess what? It’s cold for both teams! Anyways, that loss is way behind me. I definitely won’t think about it everyday for the next 5 months, definitely not.
